Brothers and Sisters in Christ
This is a quick note to update you on our efforts to shepherd the flock.
We are doing our best to comply with the temporary government mandates and still facilitate a worthy worship to our God utilizing technology. Please work with us and participate to the degree that you have the ability. This is only a temporary situation and things will soon return to normal, Lord willing.
The recent action taken by the governor of Idaho is not without biblical precedent. In Leviticus 13, God made provisions to prevent the spread of leprosy, demanding a form of “social distancing” and even isolation. We are required to be subject to our government (Romans 13:1-2 and 1 Peter 2:13-17). We are not being told that we can’t worship God or that we must stop preaching in the name of Jesus (Acts 4 and 5). We are to love our neighbors as ourselves and we pray that we are taking the proper steps to avoid getting the virus or transmitting it to others within the church and outside. We thank you for your patience and support.
We are providing a mid week bible class at the regular meeting time utilizing technology. Again we encourage you to join us on line and grow in your knowledge of the books of 1st and 2nd Peter. Brother Jim Cope is doing a great job bringing us the class.
A phone tree has been created that is being used to try and stay in contact with one another. The calls will normally be coming from the elders, deacons, evangelist and their wives. We encourage all of us to make extra effort to reach out and stay connected.
We are continuing to have Elder meetings and committee meetings using technology, rest assured work is getting done.
We are praying for each one of you and for the Lord to let this difficulty pass quickly.
Please let us know if you have any needs and we will work to assist you.
In Christian Love;
Dan, Mark, Larry

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT 3/26/20 @ 4:30pm
A LETTER FROM THE ELDERS.
Until further notice. No assemblies at the building.
Please attend the virtual services for Sunday am worship and Wednesday pm Bible class .
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
The elders feel that love for our brethren dictates we make temporary accommodations to prevent the spread of this potentially lethal virus. The situation is not ideal but if the Lord wills we will return to our normal worship services after the viral wave passes.
We will be producing a live streamed worship service on Sunday March 29th at 10:45 AM from the building, the service is being produced in order to help us comply with the recent “Order to Self Isolate for the State of Idaho” (https://coronavirus.idaho.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/127/2020/03/statewide-stay-home-order_032520.pdf). We believe there is some latitude within the document that will allow us to produce the worship service but does not allow for members to participate at the building. Just to clarify; there will not be a provision for members to participate in person this week. Please take advantage of the on-line worship.
An Internet connection is required and we have included instructions below, they can also be found on the church website (churchofchristatcda.org). Those who plan to join the worship via Internet connection need to provide their own unleavened bread and grape juice for the Lord’s Supper. If you are unable to get those emblems, please contact Larry or Steve by Saturday noon and we will arrange for bread and juice to be delivered to your home Saturday afternoon. We encourage the members who are remaining at home to partake of the Lord’s Supper at the same time as the group at the building.
